Hello
I am Georgie, also known as SageYogaDance. Welcome to my world of mindfulness, movement, rhythm, soul, joy, connection and freedom. I teach dance and yoga in and around the Keynsham area. Below, you can find out a bit more about me.

Dance and gymnastics were the cornerstones of my childhood. My first job was coaching gymnastics and at university I had the incredible opportunity of being the Choreography Coach for my cheerleading squad, who became national championships. It was a joy to work with such hard-working and passionate team mates.

I have always been fascinated by the human body and the amazing things it can do. More than that, I am fascinated by the relationship between the mind, body and emotions. The truth that I have come to understand is that we are one whole part; mind/ body/ spirit/ emotions are intricately and beautifully woven together.

I began practising yoga at the age of 18. I came to yoga largely as a physical practice but loved 'that bit at the end of class!' Over time and with much research, experience and training, my understanding of yoga as a spiritual practice has grown. I continue to be passionate about yoga philosophy and am always hungry to learn more!

It matters deeply to me that people in my classes feel supported in finding a moment of calm and quiet in what can feel like a chaotic world. In particular, running full day retreats in collaboration with other leaders in the wellbeing sector is a joy.

Similarly, teaching dance brings joy; it is not quiet but it can help to quiet the mind and free the soul; I believe this is why it is an artform that has existed in cultures all over the world for thousands of years. My aim is that the people in my classes feel liberated, get a boost of confidence and a heavy dose of endorphins! My dance training began at the age of two and I went on to train at the renowned Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance, where I achieved Advanced Level qualifications in Jazz and Modern. However, the breadth of dance styles that I connect with reaches much wider; I am incredibly lucky to work for great organisations like The Showgirl Academy and babyballet, where my understanding of dance and teaching dance has continued to develop.

I am proud to live in Keynsham and was so excited to be part of the first Keynsham Music Festival's Wellbeing Village. This is where I first taught Family Dance. In this style, we are dancing together and the aim is more about connection, freedom and joy than perfect technique.

You might notice that many of my classes are taught under the umbrella of a different company. I am someone that loves to teach, dance and practice yoga; this is where my focus lies. If you are interested in coming along to a class that is not currently timtabled, get in touch. If we can get numbers high enough, I will get it booked in.

We all have our own rhythm and soul; my job is to help you find yours.
